Share Food Program is now the primary supplier for Temple University Health – Episcopal Campus’ food pantry, allowing the pantry to dramatically expand their reach.
Thanks to this new partnership, Clinical Dietitian Specialist Lisa Rasi and her team are about to see a lot more regulars. “This is going to dramatically expand our ability to provide for the community,” Rasi explains.

Home delivery now brings free Senior Food Boxes directly to over 3,500 seniors in the Greater Philadelphia area. Growing the home delivery program has allowed Share to provide boxes to seniors who are not able to make it to Senior Food Box pickups at one of the 85+ partner sites, and otherwise would not be able to access the food they need.

Since January 2022, Share has partnered with BookSmiles to deliver 496 cases—that’s over 44,000 books—to kids and families throughout the Philadelphia region. Books are delivered to folks through Share’s pantry network, SNAP-Ed classes, and Philly Food Rescue.

Share Food Program has been selected as a charity partner for ACME and will receive donations from its annual Nourishing Neighbors Breakfast for Kids campaign. All donations made at 17 different stores throughout Delaware and Montgomery counties will be used to assist Share’s mission to distribute healthy, necessary food to the region’s most vulnerable communities and families. Share expects to feed upwards of 350,000 children in the next year alone.

The next installment of Nice Roots’ Farm-to-School curriculum is here! When students visit Nice Roots Farm to learn about growing food from seed to harvest, they start by discussing how growing their own food can be an act of food justice, and things to consider when sourcing food ethically and sustainably. Then, based on what is in season during their trip, students dive into learning more about a specific plant family. The module wraps up with a hands-on activity like seed starting or food tasting that supports students in deepening their relationship to their food, nutrition and the land.
