Hunting Park, PA – On Monday, January 16th, Share Food Program is honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy through service, collaboration, nourishment, and empowerment to neighbors in need throughout the Greater Philadelphia region.

For this year’s MLK Day of Service, Share Food Program is hosting more than 150 volunteers at our Allegheny West warehouse. Participants will sort and pack boxes of free food for delivery to seniors and assist with special projects. Around the City, Share volunteers will also be supporting our food pantry network and rescuing and redistributing fresh food to community sites via our Philly Food Rescue program.

We invite the media to visit our warehouse to capture our collective, hunger-relief efforts in action this Monday, and to greet the volunteers and staff who are investing their time in food equity and change.

Share Food Program is energized to do this important work together, as well as break down barriers, form impactful partnerships, and foster swift action and respect for each other and those we serve.
