In July 2021, Philly Food Rescue—one of the largest food rescue organizations in the region—joined the Share Food Program family, enabling Share to have a greater impact in the fight against hunger in Philadelphia, as well as save even more food from landfills each year.

Philly Food Rescue works to rescue fresh, perishable food before it goes to waste and strives to provide service without burden, dispatching donations to local communities and organizations so that surplus becomes wholesome meals on our neighbors’ tables the very same day the foods are offered for donation.

Works with food donors to coordinate and schedule one-time or regular donation pickups
Accept donations from grocers, restaurants, caterers, universities, farmers markets, and more.
Tracks giving and data, measuring impact on hunger and the environment
Become a Food Rescue Hero: download the Philly Food Rescue app—a volunteer-facing platform—to get fresh food to their final destinations
