Share Food Program’s main warehouse and food banking center is located in North Philadelphia, which is also home to our Nice Roots Farm and volunteer packing operations.
Share is now renovating two recently-acquired warehouses in Delaware County and Montgomery County, allowing us to reinforce emergency response efforts and improve food access for all residents and pantries in the region.
Our distribution hubs house the food, water, paper products, household essentials, books, and other necessities that are transported to our vast network of community-facing pantries, partner agencies, and directly to the homes of seniors and people with disabilities.

What to expect if you’re visiting a Share pantry
Use the Find Food map or call 215-223-2220.
Go to a pantry in the county you live in. Some pantries have specific service areas within the county. If you live outside the pantry’s service area, call 215-223-2220 or use the Find Food map to find an alternative.
Yes. If a pantry is selling food or asking for a donation, please call 215-223-2220.
Yes, once a year. The required form asks for your name, address, family size, income level, and signature. You do not need to provide proof.
Some pantries ask for ID to confirm you live in their service area. If you don’t have an ID, you will still get food. If you have a Share Pantry Customer Card, bring it.
If possible, please bring a bag, box, or cart. Some pantries have materials to help with food transportation.
Usually a mix of canned, fresh, and frozen foods. Some pantries give a package of food. Other pantries ask you to choose what you want. For specific questions, call your local pantry using the Find Food map.

Yes, you can be a “proxy” to pick up for someone else. The recipient needs to agree, and the proxy needs to bring ID.

Some pantries offer drive-through, but most do not. Drive-through pantries should serve you even if you don’t have a car.

Share pantries will serve you no matter what language you speak. Most pantries use Google to translate. Some pantries have staff or volunteers who speak other languages.

Some pantries in Philadelphia County distribute food to residents of specific areas. People who live outside of a Philadelphia pantry’s service area, but are still Pennsylvania residents, may be served if the pantry has enough food. The pantry should give you information about where else you can get food. Residency is based on self-declaration; no identification is needed since the address on the TEFAP Self-Declaration of Need form shows that you live in the area. What to expect if your organization is applying to be a Share pantry
What does my organization need to be eligible for the Pantry Program?
Share looks for partners who are:
- A non-profit organization
- Able to hold weekly food distributions
- Able to store frozen, fresh, and shelf-stable food
- Able to fulfill United States Department of Agriculture reporting and Civil Rights requirements
- Sufficient volunteer support for pantry operations
- Located in an area of high need that is not being served by current Share Pantry partners

How do we apply to join the Pantry Program?
Fill out our online interest form. You will be contacted within a week by the appropriate pantry team.
Will I join the Pantry Program if I apply online?
Because of limited governmental resources, Share cannot serve every pantry who applies. We choose new partners based on overall need in an area, poverty statistics, and racial equity. Waitlists vary by program and are updated periodically.
Can Pantry Partners pick up food at your warehouse?
No, we only offer delivery.
What are the reporting requirements for a Share Pantry Partner?
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) requires Pantry Partners to submit these numbers each month:
- Total households served
- Total children served
- Total adults served
- Total seniors served
- New individuals served
- New households served
