Inflation, coupled with the end of several pandemic-era benefits, has pushed more families to charitable food networks. The alarming trend has led Share and dozens of other anti-hunger allies to call on Pennsylvania’s leaders to prioritize policies that combat food insecurity.

Pennsylvania tossed out 2.89 million tons of surplus food in 2022. Fortunately, Share Food Program’s Philly Food Rescue (PFR) initiative is moving the needle on food waste prevention efforts in Philly.

Share Food Program is hosting a groundbreaking event for Delaware County’s newest, dedicated food bank. The 9,000-square-foot warehouse, currently undergoing renovations, will serve as the County’s central hub for food commodities and distribution for the growing network of pantries in the region.
