Share Food Program, advocates urge Congress to VOTE NO on Farm Bill
- News and Media
In the coming days, Congress is expected to vote on an inadequate and inequitable Farm Bill.
Let’s make this clear—a vote for the Farm Bill in its current iteration, is a vote against working class families across the nation.
This version of the Farm Bill would effectively make permanent the disastrous cuts to SNAP made in H.R.1, and fails to adequately support vital hunger-relief programs, including The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP).
The situation is dire, and it is crucial that Congress does NOT move forward with a flawed farm bill, and instead prioritizes our families and vulnerable communities.
We strongly urge the House to VOTE NO on this bill and go back to the drawing board for the sake of our families and our farmers.
And we urge our hunger-relief partners and community members to communicate the same to members of Congress.
Food is a human right and hunger is a solvable problem.
