The 27,000-square-foot facility underwent significant renovations as it expands charitable food distribution capacity across the County.
Lansdale, PA (January 29, 2026) — Share Food Program, the region’s leading hunger-relief organization, in partnership with Montgomery County, PA, officially unveiled its new 27,000 square-foot food distribution warehouse in Lansdale today during a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by county officials, community leaders, supporters, and partner organizations.
Amid deepening federal funding cuts and rising demand for hunger relief resources, the opening of this facility represents a significant investment in Montgomery County’s charitable food system. The new warehouse was celebrated as a key center for food storage and distribution in the county, improving access to food for families across the region.

While Share has long served Montgomery County, the Lansdale facility denotes the organization’s first dedicated distribution hub in the county. The new warehouse significantly expands Share’s ability to support local pantries and community partners as they respond to increasing food insecurity in the area.
The fully renovated building previously housed County Electric Supply Company, and now includes two loading docks, a cooler, and a freezer. The facility also has storage for approximately 200 dry pallets and 100 pallets each of frozen and refrigerated food, serving more than 70 food pantries, senior sites, school districts, and community-based agencies. The warehouse receives food from wholesalers, government-approved vendors, private vendors, and other public sources and donors. Food is distributed through Share Food Program’s Montgomery County fleet, with some partners able to pick up directly from the warehouse.
Despite ongoing national challenges, Thursday’s ribbon-cutting event served as a reminder that communities across the nation, like Montgomery County, continue to press on together in the face of food insecurity. Local leadership, nonprofit collaboration, and private-sector support have all played vital roles in bringing this project to life.
“This warehouse helps us meet people where they are, at a critical time when need is growing and accessibility to resources gets tighter,” said George Matysik, executive director of Share Food Program. “By establishing a permanent home for Share’s food distribution in Montgomery County, we are further supporting the network of local pantries and community partners that families rely on every day—and making sure more even more families can count on consistent, dignified access to food when they need it most.”
Montgomery County officials pointed out the importance of the new facility in strengthening long-term food security and supporting the County’s growing network of food pantries and providers.
“This new facility is a warehouse of hope for Montgomery County, and our promise that help will be there when it’s needed most,” said Jamila H. Winder, Chair of the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners. “There are many Montco residents who are just one job loss, one illness, or one rent increase away from struggling to put food on the table. We continue to invest in our County food system and our incredible community partners because each and every resident deserves the dignity of food security.”
“The County invested $7 million in this facility because it allows the generosity of our community to be channeled effectively, at scale, to meet real needs now and in the future,” said Neil K. Makhija, Montgomery County Commissioner. “We’re proud to support the work of community partners like Share Food Program, especially at a time when the federal government has actively cut food aid to the people who need it most. In the wealthiest country in the world, no one should go hungry. Here in Montgomery County, we are doing everything we can to ensure that’s the case.”
“We’ve been making great progress over the past two years when it comes to combating hunger in Montgomery County, and opening the Share warehouse in Lansdale is another step in the right direction,” said Thomas DiBello, Montgomery County Commissioner. “This facility will be a strategically located hub that makes our local network stronger and helps ensure that our community partners can make food as accessible as possible for residents in need.”
Other community partners likewise emphasized the warehouse’s role in improving efficiency and assuring stable access to nutritious food for neighbors in need.
“It is because of this collaborative partnership that we have been able to be a lifeline for individuals and families in our community that face food insecurity,” said Brenon Ross, executive director of Bethel Community Church in Pottstown’s food bank, a partner pantry of Share Food Program. “With the help of Share, our efforts as a pantry have represented hope, dignity, and the reassurance that no one in our community has to face hunger alone.”
The new warehouse, located at 1111 N. Broad Street in Lansdale, will serve as a mainstay of Montgomery County’s charitable food infrastructure for years to come.
