Help Provide Emergency Water Relief

On Sunday, March 26th, news traveled fast that between 8,000 – 12,000 gallons of a latex-based solution spilled into the Delaware River from a nearby chemical plant in Bucks County, potentially compromising the water supply for the region’s residents. As a precaution, officials recommended Philly residents may want to drink bottled water that afternoon; updated guidance later specified that tap water would remain safe until at least 11:59 p.m. on Monday, March 27. The timeline has since shifted again.

Countless neighbors have scrambled to fill pitchers or purchase water from stores, leaving many shelves empty.

As the situation continues to develop, Share Food Program is responding to the looming water shortage for many, especially vulnerable populations on a fixed income or who are not able to travel to stores.

Access to clean drinking water is a human right. We don’t know what will happen next, but we are staying prepared. Help us ensure our neighbors stay safe, hydrated, and nourished. Every gift helps Share quickly respond to the crises that affect our communities.
